George Michael has a special place in the hearts of many Chinese.
His group Wham! was one of the first major Western acts to perform in China, playing two concerts in 1985.
While he is primarily beloved for his singing career, he actually served in another role as an art collector. He was a fan of many of his British contemporaries, artists such as Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and Marc Quinn. Some key works from the George Michael Collection are on a global tour, beginning in New York and moving on to Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Shanghai, before returning to London to go under the hammer.
The collection is touring around the world and will be in Shanghai from February 23 to 28. Go and take a different look at a pop icon!
