The works of Alphonse Mucha are in Shanghai for the first time.
Shanghai is getting an up-close look at some of the most defining artwork of the last century. The Art Nouveau movement echoed throughout Europe around 1900, and Alphonse Mucha was at its forefront. The family collection of this Czech master’s works has now come to China for the first time.
We got an inside look at the exhibition and got insights from both the curator, Tomoko Sato, and Mucha’s great grandson, Marcus. What was once the most influential works in Europe a century ago can now inspire a new generation of Chinese artists. Make sure you take some time to check out these wonders at the Pearl Art Museum!
