Citizens in Shanghai have a new choice for short suburban tours, as a new country park has opened for trial operations recently in Songjiang District.
The new country park lies in Chedun Town, which is famous for Shanghai Chedun filming base, on the north bank of the Huangpu River. It occupies 23.7 square kilometers.
Visitors here can experience a view of the river, forests, reeds, lotuses and willows. You can also enjoy country leisure, like picking produce, fishing, and farming.
The park is now free to tourists every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (the last entry time is 4:30 p.m.). Public transport is not so convenient, but you can drive there. It takes you about one hour, and parking is free.
