The Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences has seen a significant increase of its revenue so far this year thanks to the Twenty-Five Policies launched by the city’s Science Committee in March. The new policies allow scientists to receive bonus pay for the research they do to help businesses, whereas until recently there was no extra compensation for this kind of work at all. The compensated services may consist of research, consultation or resale of technology. The Academy has been able to commercialize seventy-four research projects as of June, generating a revenue of twenty-four million Yuan, 1.5 times the revenue of 2018.
