All The Colors Of Cotton

The works of Chinese artist Mianhua can be a little mysterious. People tend to try to find her exact intention, and hold that to be the only correct interpretation, but Mianhua opts for a different approach.

Like any great work of art, the significance of the work is in the eye of the beholder, and she hopes her audience can embrace that.

Her paintings may end up similar to flowers or trees, but she always starts out to try and capture some essence of the human condition. Whether or not that is the actual destination depends on the journey. Mianhua was kind enough to share some of her creative process with ShanghaiEye.
