Fengxian District was established by Emperor Yongzheng during the Qing dynasty (1636-1912). Today, with the high level of development there, people are able to really enjoy their lives.
Children, flying kites in the park and playing traditional Chinese musical instruments together. Adults practice Chinese Kongfu, go sightseeing to enjoy their weekend, or just gather around the community activities center as usual. It is a comfortable and casual picture.
And today, one familiar piece of music catches everybody’s attention. Follow the sound of the chorus from Fengxian Qunxian club singing “My Motherland and I” in Acappella. Everyone around is infected by the patriotic atmosphere and sing along to the well-known song as the giant five-star red flag is unfurled and the crowd infuse their blessings to the motherland in the song.
It was all part of the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. If you happen to come across one of these flash mobs in the coming days, don’t be shy, join in!
