A ceremony was held last night to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the iconic Fairmont Peace Hotel. As part of the celebration the third edition of the Art and Culture Week was opened in the hotel.
Built in 1929, the Peace Hotel is considered the first modern building in Shanghai, and a living monument of Shanghai’s heritage and development into one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. The Arts and Culture Week includes a painting exhibition, poetry conference and a lecture on historical figures on the Bund. It will run through August 7.
