The second China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held from November 5th to 10th in Shanghai. Yesterday marked the 200-day countdown of the event. The preparation for the second edition of the China International Import Expo is going smoothly. Some highlights have already been revealed.
The second expo will strive to be larger in scale and better in quality. One of the biggest highlights of the CIIE, the country pavilion, will be a platform to increase the impact of different countries and promote deeper cooperation between them. This years’ CIIE will have a 30,000 square meter exhibition area for it.
The China Pavilion will be themed on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the country, showcasing the economic achievements and new opportunities in the new times.
This year’s Enterprise and Business Exhibition area will be expanded to 300,000 square meters, up from the previous 270,000 square meters.
More small and medium-sized companies in fields such as AR and VR technologies, self-driving cars, internet of things and block chain will join the upcoming expo.
In light of the growing Chinese economy and the upgrade in consumption behavior, the event will also showcase high-end consumer products, augmented reality and virtual reality merchandise, and elder care-related goods. Additional outdoor space will be provided for automobile and mechanical equipment displays.
New products, technologies and services will be launched through a new unified channel this year, making the CIIE the premiere stage for unveiling cutting-edge technologies and applications.
An outdoor experience zone will also be added this year, featuring activities like unmanned driving experiences, to forge a stronger connection between merchants and prospective buyers.
More than 1,800 companies from 77 countries and regions had sent in applications for the second CIIE, and 50 percent of them have inked contracts with the CIIE bureau. Over 200 Fortune 500 companies have also signed contracts for the show, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Commerce.
Also, the 2nd Hongqiao International Economic Forum will continue to invite senior politicians and experts from all over the world. The Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum directly serves the overall objectives of the China International Import Expo. It will focus on the new trends and new changes in economic development at home and abroad, reflects new philosophies derived from inclusive development, promote economic globalization that is open, inclusive, comprehensively-beneficial, balanced and win-win, building an open world economy and prompting global trade growth.
