Crazy For Chicken, Praying For Good Fortune

Nothing makes a delicious dish taste even better like the memories of the good times you’ve had, and the friends you’ve had them with, while enjoying it. Xiaoshaoxing white cut chicken is a Shanghainese favorite for good reasons: it tastes amazing, it’s been around since 1943, and it even has an interesting back story.



This chicken empire started from one little guy running a food stall. When two people tried to muscle him out of some free chicken, he dunked it in cold water to hopefully ruin their meal, but it ended up just making it more delicious!


Tradition has never paired so well with a beer.
