According to the Shanghai Airport Company, the self-service baggage drop area of Pudong Airport’s terminal 1 is officially in operation. It is reported that the additional 8 terminal machines and 22 baggage check-in machines will decrease the time travellers need to line up, providing a more convenient and efficient service for China Eastern domestic flyers.
The new baggage machines are said to be equipped with 3D scanning technology, intrusion detection, and other functions. They also use the “two-stop” aviation operating system recently developed by TravelSky, which supports self check-in and self-service baggage drop.
For future travelers taking China Eastern’s domestic flights, all they have to do is go to the self-service terminal machines (Stop 1) for self check-in, attach the baggage tag, and go to the self-service baggage check-in machines (Stop 2). There, they can place their luggage on the machine which will automatically weigh, scan, and check the bag, all of which can be completed in one minute.
