As the curtains were raised in the hotel’s multi-purpose hall, what was unveiled drew oohs and ahhs from the crowd. What the hundred or so guests saw was not a view of a glowing sunset, but the moonlit Shanghai skyline.
This showcasing of Shanghai’s views is a part of an event named “Shanghai Living Room”. Portugal is the first stop of “Shanghai Living Room”, which is a city promotional campaign aimed for overseas markets. Through multi-dimensional, multi-sensory, and diverse activities and designs, the event invites foreign hotel guests to explore Shanghai’s depth, beauty, and charm.
By increasing global understanding of Shanghai, the display hopes to attract more visitors and to help push the city into becoming a world-famous tourist destination.
