Tank Shanghai is a unique concept for a museum. As a former tanker installation for Longhua Airport, it had a long journey to go before it became an art museum. What used to be disparate oil tankers are now connected into a cohesive installation.
Even though it used to be a giant structure designed for confinement on a large scale, now its vast size offers limitless potential for expression, with the various tanks giving way to installations and exhibits that would be heretofore impossible at other museums. Take a look into the amazing process behind this museums creation.
