Lingang Prepares For New General Aviation Airport

Trial flights have started for fixed-wing aircraft in the Lingang New Area in Pudong.The trial flights are being conducted in advance of the building of a general aviation airport. One of the tests the trial flights are conducting is to calculate meteorological factors as weather conditions can influence flights in very dramatic ways, according to test pilot Lin Huidong. The flights take place between Pudong and Jinshan, a total of 18 minutes in each direction. The current runway has 600-meters of land runway, and an 800-meter water runway. When completed, the new airport will meet all aviation needs for small aircraft in China.
