At Qibao Ancient Town in Minhang District, a beautiful violin solo rang out amid the peaceful scenery. The famous violinist Yu Lina stood on a stone bridge and played “My Country and I”, which attracted a lot of people. Artist Jiao Huang recited a poem which really touched the tourists, stirring their patriotic feelings.
The highlight of the flash mob was people joining in to sing, such as firefighter Wang Haibin, migrant worker Liu Xianbao, host Yin Hairong, and when the song is ended, people couldn’t help but say “I love you, my country”.
It was all part of the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. If you happen to come across one of these flash mobs in the coming days, don’t be shy and join in!
