Hang-huang railway, a high-speed railway corridor that connects Hangzhou, Zhengjiang province with Huang Shan in Anhui — hence the ‘Hang-huang’ name — opens today.
Perhaps one of China’s most beautiful routes, it provides greater access to the Huangshan Mountains and many scenic spots in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Along the way, there are seven top level scenic spots, including the West Lake, Xixi Wetlands, Qiandao Lake, Fuchun River and the Huangshan Mountains.
The 265-kilometer high-speed line will also reduce travel time between Shanghai and Huangshan from more than four hours to two hours and forty minutes.
There are two trips a day from Shanghai to Huangshan on this new line, with more frequent trips becoming available after January 5.
