The US seems to be rushing in two directions at once, without much thought as to how it gets there.
It is barreling into the future atop the data analytics wave, but doing so by signing a contract with Facebook, the company that just had a massive data leak, and they don’t even know what the data is. At the same time, it is headed right back to the 1930’s by trying to imitate the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act with a new round of protectionist policies, and that didn’t go so well the first time around.
