The opening ceremony of the Guangzhou- Shenzhen- Hong Kong bullet train’s Hong Kong section will be held on September 22nd, and will officially begin service on the 23rd.
It will take only 14 minutes from Shenzhen to Hong Kong. The journey from Shanghai to Hong Kong will be cut to less than eight hours, compared to 19 hours on normal speed trains, and it will only cost about 1,000 rmb.
In the beginning of this year, the China Railway Corporation agreed to open 127 pairs of trains on this line. The long distance trains travel to Beijing, Shanghai, and 12 other cities.
