Strong Growth In Foreign Investment For Shanghai

New foreign investments deals, totaling $7.7 bln were signed by forty-two foreign companies and the Shanghai city government yesterday, bringing the total of foreign companies whose regional headquarters are based in Shanghai to 701, the most of any city in mainland China. Signatories included US agricultural giant Cargill and German chemical maker BASF. Projects include industries in smart-technology, bio-medicine, bio-chemicals, integrated circuits, energy and finance, bringing an overall investment increase of 13.4% on the previous year.
