Blink and you might have missed it, but Shanghai had its first snow today around 9 a.m. Well, probably if you were anywhere lower than the Shanghai Tower observation deck you probably would have missed it, too. Even if it didn’t provide for snowball fights in the streets, it still was fitting as today is also the first day of Major Snow on the Chinese solar calendar.
After almost summer-like weather just a week ago, a cold front has come sweeping out of the north, forcing everyone to finally bundle up, but bringing with it some of winter’s beauty.
Local netizens are excited about the first snow of the year.
Although it’s going to be warmer next week according to the weather forecast, the temperature will not rise above 10 degrees. So the winter is officially here! Get ready!
