Starting at 9am every morning, the trams of Shanghai’s Songjiang district rumble to life, transporting citizens along its 20-stop line 2 route.
From one end to the other is 46 minutes, and is accessible for holders of Shanghai transit cards as well as single-use tickets.
At each station, you can expect a wait of 10 to 15 minutes for a tram to arrive and when you hop on, you’re transported to a more quaint form of mass transportation that possesses its own unique charms.
So next time you find yourself in Songjiang, consider giving your feet a rest and taking a tram ride for a change of pace.
