Wonderful Watercolors Of Old And New Shanghai

Visitors to the Customs House of the Jing’an District Library on Xinzha Lu will get the chance to journey through some of the history of Shanghai in a new watercolor exhibit of the works of Zhu Kairong.

The foggy, somewhat ethereal visions of Shanghai evoked through Zhu’s work covers areas of the Bund as they appeared a century ago, as well as more modern day renditions of Jing’an Temple. The Jing’an District Library is showcasing  40 of the artist’s works that residents of Shanghai will find strange but familiar, as vistas they have come to recognize in their daily lives are presented through Zhu’s singular eye and talent.
