The 45th WorldSkills Competition closes tomorrow in Kazan, Russia, and the torch will officially be passed across to Shanghai to host the 2021 event. Dancers were still rehearsing at 10:00 a.m. for the closing ceremony, when they will deliver a five-minute piece with Chinese elements that show the charms of Shanghai. Meanwhile organizers from the Chinese delegation were spending time with their Russian counterparts to learn from their experiences. Logistics will be one of the complicated elements of the 2021 event as there are more than 70 organizational issues to take into consideration. According to the IT Director of WorldSkills 2021, Shan Bo, the Shanghai event will be bigger than this years where 1,300 competitors took part in 56 skill areas that included cooking, hairdressing, aircraft maintenance and hotel reception.
